Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo that is created with a manual hand tool to achieve a natural hairstroke eyebrow. Microblading is a solution used for fully reconstructing almost non-existent brows, filling in over plucked brows, covering gaps, creating more definition, or reshaping brows. The microblading process is meticulous and can take between two and three hours to complete. The semi-permanent tattoo can last from 1-2 years depending on the skin type and color selected. Annual touchups are recommended for maintenance.
Ombre Powder Technique
The Ombre powder technique is a semi-permanent tattoo achieved by using a permanent makeup machine. The finished product has the appearance of a shaded and powdery eyebrow. This technique is appropriate for all skin types, but is especially recommended for oily skin types. It can last up to 1-2 years depending on the skin type and color selected. Annual touchups are recommended for maintenance.
The combination technique is a hybrid of the microblading and ombre powder techniques. This option is used to create a fuller and more bold and defined look. This technique utilizes both the machine and hand-held blade to achieve the desired look. It can last up to 1-2 years depending on the skin type and color selected. Annual touchups are recommended for maintenance.
Is the microblading procedure painful?
A variety of topical anesthetics are used to numb the treatment area to address and relieve any discomfort that would be caused. Each person has a different pain threshold and level of tolerance and therefore the anesthetic process is customized for every client.
How long is the healing process? Are there any restrictions?
The healing period is approximately 7-14 days if the after-care instructions are followed closely. Healing will also vary from person to person depending on their skin type.
How long is the procedure/appointment?
The appointment can range from 2-3 hours depending on the service. The majority of that time is allocated for prep, color selection, drawing in shapes and decision making. The actual microblading procedure is approximately one hour.
How will you choose the color and shape?
With a wide range of pigments to choose from, a specific shade will be selected depending on your skin and hair color. Eyebrows are carefully measured and a shape is drawn that suits your natural face shape. Before starting you must approve the final shape.
May I get the procedure area wet?
For at least 2 weeks, the site of the procedure should be kept dry to improve color retention results.
May I wear makeup after the procedure?
You are able to wear makeup everywhere else but not directly on the procedure area for at least 2 weeks or until the area is fully healed.
Is the touchup necessary?
Touchups are highly recommended to provide the maximum pigment retention.
What is the microblading process like from beginning to end?
The first step of the process is the application of a topical anesthetic to minimize discomfort, followed by the procedure. The next step is drawing in the shape with a removable pencil which is the longest and most important part of the process. This is the point of the process that the shape is customized and agreed upon. After the procedure, there are after-care instructions that need to be followed for a week, but no additional special care is required afterwards. A touch up should be done approximately 6-8 weeks after.
